By participating as a voter, election officer, credential authority, or trustee on the HMJBI Official Election Server, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Official Purpose & Verifiability
This platform is operated by the Business and Informatics Department Student Association (HMJBI) to conduct transparent, end-to-end verifiable electronic elections powered by Belenios. It guarantees:
- Ballot Secrecy: Votes are encrypted directly inside the voter's browser using ElGamal/Ed25519 cryptography before transmission. The server never sees or stores unencrypted votes.
- Universal Verifiability: Every voter receives a cryptographic Smart Ballot Tracker to verify their ballot is recorded in the public ballot box, and anyone can audit the zero-knowledge proofs of the final tally.
2. Voter Code of Conduct
- Voting credentials and One-Time Password (OTP) verification codes sent to your student e-mail address are strictly personal and confidential. You must not share, sell, or transfer your credentials to any third party.
- Attempting to vote on behalf of another student, disrupt election services, or bypass authentication controls is a violation of student association election regulations.
3. Election Committee & Administrator Responsibilities
- Authorized HMJBI election administrators are responsible for maintaining accurate voter rolls, configuring election schedules, and safeguarding trustee keys in accordance with HMJBI election bylaws.
- This server may only be used for official HMJBI and Business & Informatics Department elections, referendums, and authorized organizational polls.
4. Privacy & Data Protection
- Personal Data Processed: We process only the minimum data required to authenticate eligible student voters—specifically student identifiers/usernames, institutional or registered e-mail addresses, and voting timestamps.
- Public Audit Trail: In accordance with verifiable e-voting standards, the public ballot box displays encrypted ballots, cryptographic proofs, and final tallied results. Individual ballot choices remain mathematically anonymous.
- Cookies & Local Storage: This site uses strictly necessary session cookies and browser local storage for authentication state and language preferences. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
